U.S. stocks gain on jobs data

FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - Stocks rallied on Friday as investors cheered a stronger-than-expected July jobs report; the U.S. economy added 163,000 jobs in July, an improvement from just 64,000 added in June.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied 217.29 points, or 1.7%, to 13,096.17, finishing up 0.2% for the week. The S&P 500 index climbed 25.99 points, or 1.9%, to 1,390.99, gaining 0.4% from last week's close. The Nasdaq Composite added 58.13 points, or 2%, to 2,967.90, a weekly gain of 0.3%.
