UPDATE: Trina Solar Shares Dive 8% After Q4 Net Loss Below Expectations

Trina Solar Limited ( TSL ) shares have dropped 8.3% to $4.10 in afternoon trading following the company's announcement of a Q4 net loss of $87.2 million, or $1.23 per share, compared to consensus estimate of $0.82 per share loss.

Revenues for the quarter were $302.7 million, better than analyst estimate of $269 million. Year-ago net loss was $65.8 million, or $0.93 per share, on revenues of $435.7 million.

Total shipments were 414.5 MW, exceeding the company's previous guidance of between 380 MW to 400 MW.

TSL trades in a 52-week range of $2.04 - $8.68.
