Update: Top unusual option activity

As of today's market close, here are the top 10 names showing unusual option activity on tradeMONSTER's LiveAction data system. 

Celsion (CLSN): Option volume 2,125 percent above average. Investors sold about 20,000 September 2.50 puts for $0.10 to $0.20. CLSN rose 9.02 percent to $4.23.

Travelzoo (TZOO): Option volume 1,789 percent above average. Investors sold the December 50 puts, looking for shares to hold their ground. TZOO rose 3.39 percent to $87.79.

Procter & Gamble (PG): Option volume 1,743 percent above average. Call activity surged as investors looked to reap the quarterly dividend.

News B-shares (NWS): Option volume 1,293 percent above average. Investors sold the January 12 puts for $0.45 and the January 14 puts for $0.90, looking for shares to hold their ground. NWS rose 5.52 percent to $16.25.

News A-Shares (NWSA): Option volume 1,255 percent above average. Investors bought the January 16 calls and sold the January 19 calls, looking for upside. NWSA rose 5.51 percent to $15.79.

  • Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPDI): Option volume 1,211 percent above Petrohawk (HK): Option volume 1,063 percent above average.
  • Southern Union (SUG): Option volume 976 percent above average.
  • WebMD (WBMD): Option volume 973 percent above average.
  • Thoratec (THOR): Option volume 926 percent above average.
