iShares Malaysia ETF (EWM): Option volume 2,688 percent above
average. An investor sold 6,000 September 14 puts for $0.30,
looking for the fund to hold its ground. EWM rose 1.60 percent to
Motorola Mobility (MMI): Option volume 1,772 percent above average.
Investors sold more than 18,000 September 25 calls after the
company agreed to be acquired. MMI popped 56 percent to $38.12.
Exeter Resources (XRA): Option volume 1,559 percent above average.
Large blocks traded in the August 5 calls and the February 5 calls
but volume was below open interest in both. XRA rose 6.90 percent
American Electric Power (AEP): Option volume 1,558 percent above
average. There was a surge of buying August 38 calls against open
interest, while a protective position in the August 33 puts was
apparently rolled to the November 33 contracts. AEP rose 4.84
percent to $37.49.
CapitalSource (CSE): Option volume 1,184 percent above average. A
block of 5,000 January 7 calls was sold for $0.25 and $0.30. CSE
rose 7.86 percent to $6.04.
