Canada's main stock market rallied in afternoon trading to a triple digit gain, bouncing back from earlier losses.

The S&P TSX Composite Index closed up 113 points to 11,564 after hitting a low of 11,260 on Wednesday morning.

The TSX's materials sector led gainers, advancing more than 3%. Consumer and health care issues were also higher.
