TSX At 10am -- Up Nearly 58 Points, All Sectors In The Green As Industrials and Financials Take The Lead

The TSX is up nearly 58 points this morning, with all sectors in the green. Industrials are leading the charge, adding 0.82%, followed by financials, up 0.54%.

Bank of Montreal in its morning note said The TSX was a laggard last week, falling 0.5%, lagging big gains in the Nikkei (+3.3%) and DAX (2.6%), while outperforming the Nasdaq (-2.8%). Despite the weekly decline, BMO said the TSX remains the top performer year-to-date among major markets, up 4.7%, compared to losses in the Nikkei (-10%), CSI 300 (-8%), FTSE (-2%), and Dow (-1.5%). Most TSX sectors were in the red, with gold slumping 6.9% and health care tumbling 6.6%. Only utilities (+1.5%), energy (+1.5%) and telcos (+1.2%) were in the black.
