TSX At 10am -- Up 47 Points With Energy Leading Gains, Miners The Sole Loser

The TSX is up 47 points this morning with all sectors bar miners in positive territory. Energy is the biggest gainer this morning, advancing nearly 1%, boosted by higher natural gas prices . Industrials are the next biggest gainer, up 0.65%, boosted by Bombardier (BBD-B.TO), after the company announced a tentative sale of 20 C-Series aircraft from a Chinese airline.

Miners are down 0.2%, pulled down by a drop in gold, silver and copper prices . Gold and silver are down 2.3% and 2.4% respectively, as investors cash in on gains.

The Teranet-National Bank Composite House Price Index, released today, showed that Canadian home prices rose in June. National home prices were up 0.9% last month following a 0.8% increase in May.

Prices were up 4.45% percent from a year earlier, slightly lower than May's 4.6% price gain.
