TSX At 10am -- Up 31 Points, Miners Post The Largest Gains, Up Nearly 1%, Energy The Sole Loser

The TSX is up 31 points this morning, with all sectors bar energy in positive territory. Miners are the biggest gainers this morning, adding 0.97%, followed by industrials and info tech, both up 0.38%.

Energy is the sole loser this morning, down 0.22%, pulled down by lower crude oil and natural gas prices .

In other news, Scotiabank (BNS.TO) has agreed to purchase 20% of Canadian Tire's (CTC-A.TO) finance business. Financials are up 0.21%.

Canadian housing starts accelerated to 194,809 units at a seasonally adjusted annual pace, a 24% increase after March's 18% drop, the Canada Mortgage & Housing Corp. reported today.
