TSX At 10am -- Down 24 Points On Mostly Negative Sectors; Miners The Biggest Gainer, Healthcare The Biggest Loser

The TSX is down 24 points this morning on mostly negative sectors. Miners are the biggest gainers this morning, up 0.8%, propped by higher gold and commodities prices.

Healthcare continues its losing trend this week, shedding 0.31%.

Canadian wholesale sales rose for a third month in June, climbing 0.6% to $53 billion, Statistics Canada said today.


Five of seven major wholesaling categories, showed increases. Building materials and supplies rose 2.2% to a record $7.60 billion. Agricultural supply sales rose 4.9%. However, autos showed a 2.4% decline to $9.06 billion.
