TransCanada's Gros-Morne Wind Farm Begins Operations

TransCanada Corporation ( TRP ) today announced the completion of the Quebec-based Gros-Morne wind farm, the final phase of Cartier Wind Energy. Gros-Morne was officially commissioned early on the morning of November 6, 2012.

The company said the wind farm was completed 1 month ahead of schedule and can produce up to 111 megawatts of renewable energy, enough to meet the needs of over 20,000 Quebec homes every year.

TRP edged up by 3 cents to $45.45 yesterday in moving closer to year high $47.02.
