TransAlta Posts Q3 Earnings, Sales Miss; Reveals Deal with MidAmerican Energy - Shares Tick Higher

TransAlta Corp. ( TAC ) this morning reported its Q3 financial results, posting EPS of $0.18 per share, below estimates of $0.23, and representing a decline compared to the prior year's Q3 EPS of $0.27 per share.

Revenues for the quarter came in at $538 million, below estimates of $557 million and, and representing a decline vs. prior year Q3 sales of $629 million.

The company also announced its partnership with MidAmerican Energy Holdings under which the two companies co-develop, build and operate new natural gas-fueled electricity generation projects in Canada.

TAC is up 0.13% to $15.34, in a 52-week range of $13.92 - $22.99.
