Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the top
names showing unusual option activity on tradeMONSTER's LiveAction
BioDelivery Sciences (BDSI): Option volume 728 percent above
average. More than 3,000 October 2.50 calls were sold for $0.05 and
$0.10 against existing open interest. BDSI cratered 57 percent to
Focus Media Holding (FMCN): Option volume 524 percent above
average. A position in the October 23 puts was rolled to the
October 20 contracts. There was also heavy buying separately in the
October 20s as investors position for downside. FMCN dropped 11
percent to $22.04.
Dollar General (DG): Option volume 502 percent above average. More
than 7,600 November 40 calls were sold for $0.90 to $1 as investors
bet on resistance in the near term. DG fell 1.30 percent to $37.29.
Diamond Foods (DMND): Option volume 434 percent above average.
Activity surged in the December 120 calls and December 120 puts,
apparently as part of a market-neutral arbitrage trade. DMND rose
1.95 percent to $81.72.
CenterPoint Energy (CNP): Option volume 413 percent above average.
The November 22.50 calls traded heavily against existing open
interest. CNP rose 3.97 percent to $19.88.
