Top list of unusual option activity

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the top names showing unusual option activity on tradeMONSTER's LiveAction data system.

Goodrich (GR): Option volume 2,303 percent above average. Investors bought and sold calls amid a report that the company would be acquired. GR rose 12 percent to $104.08.

Sangamo BioScience (SGMO): Option volume 695 percent above average. Investors sold calls after the stock attempted to rally. SGMO fell 2.83 percent to $5.82.

ProShares UltraShort Yen (YCS): Option volume 527 percent above average. Investors sold about 1,900 October 14 calls for $0.25. YCS fell 1.02 percent to $13.53.

Exact Sciences (EXAS): Option volume 517 percent above average. More than 1,300 November 8 calls were bought for $0.83 to $0.95. EXAS rose 0.38 percent to $7.96.

Waves Systems (WAVX): Option volume 485 percent above average. Investors bought and sold the October 2.50 calls against existing open interest. WAVX fell 0.43 percent to $2.30.

  • HCP (HCP): Option volume percent 352 above average.
