About halfway through today's session, here are the top 10 names
showing unusual option activity on tradeMONSTER's data systems.
Flamel Technologies (FLML): Options volume 5,737 percent above
average. A position in 8,713 June 2.50 calls was rolled to the July
2.50 strike for a net cost of $0.05. FLML rose 0.87 percent to
Demand Media (DMD): Options volume 620 percent above average. Some
3,300 July 17.50 calls were bought on the Internet stock for $0.20.
DMD gained 13 percent to $14.81.
Crown Holdings (CCK): Options volume 556 percent above average.
Investors buy the October 37 calls for $3.30 and the July 39 calls
for $0.75. CCK is up 1.44 percent to $38.52.
Cenovus Energy (CVE): Options volume 527 percent above average. A
June 35-40 short strangle is closed, and replaced with a July 35
short straddle. The trade involved 1,000 contracts in each option
and is looking for the oil stock to remain in a range. CVE rose
2.85 percent to $34.99.
Pharmacyclics (PCYC): Options volume 505 percent above average.
Investors sell more than 5,000 August 8 puts for $0.40, looking for
the drug developer to hold its ground or rally. PCYC gained 5.10
percent to $8.45.
