Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the top 10
names showing unusual option activity on tradeMONSTER's LiveAction
Kinder Morgan (KMI): Option volume 4,464 percent above average.
Investors bought calls and puts after the company agreed to buy
pipeline owner El Paso. KMI rose 7.85 percent to $29.
Arkansas Best (ABFS): Option volume 1,413 percent above average.
There was heavy trading in both the 25 calls and the 25 puts in
October and November, apparently the roll of an existing straddle
position. ABFS fell 2.19 percent to $17.87.
Usec (USU): Option volume 1,320 percent above average. An investor
rolled a short position in the January 2 calls to the January 3.50
contracts, giving shares more room to appreciate. USU was unchanged
TE Connectivity (TEL): Option volume 1,051 percent above average.
More than 5,000 October 35 calls were sold against existing open
interest. TEL rose 0.12 percent to $34.29.
Brigham Exploration (BEXP): Option volume 882 percent above
average. The November 37 calls and November 38 calls were bought
and sold after the company was acquired by Statoil. BEXP rose 20
percent to $36.38.
