Thursday's ETF with Unusual Volume: GNR

The SPDR S&P Global Natural Resources ETF ( GNR ) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Thursday, with over 316,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 63,000. Shares of GNR were off about 0.8% on the day.

Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Thursday were Alcoa ( AA ), trading off about 2.1% with over 9.6 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Freeport Mcmoran ( FCX ), off about 1.7% on volume of over 7.9 million shares. Veritiv ( VRTV ) is the component faring the best Thursday, up by about 0.9% on the day, while Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNQ.CA) is lagging other components of the SPDR S&P Global Natural Resources ETF, trading lower by about 3.4%.
