Thursday Sector Laggards: Cigarettes & Tobacco, Electric Utilities

In trading on Thursday, cigarettes & tobacco shares were relative laggards, down on the day by about 0.7%. Helping drag down the group were shares of Philip Morris International ( PM ), down about 4.1% and shares of 22nd Century Group ( XXII ) off about 2.3% on the day.

Also lagging the market Thursday are electric utilities shares, down on the day by about 0.3% as a group, led down by Westar Energy ( WR ), trading lower by about 7.9% and Transalta Corporation ( TAC ), trading lower by about 2.8%.
