The battle rages on between Apple and Samsung

Do we still need to do this?  Not even close on market share anymore as Samsung pre-announced last week and imputed numbers say they are 30% of the smartphone market vs. Apple's ( AAPL , quote )

estimated 17.3% share according to China based Trend Force who is out there saying Apple Q1 was better than expected but still down sequentially but modest growth y/y.

Samsung indicated last week they are seeing profit growth of 50% which is massive considering their size.

Apple reports after the bell and our view is that people have underestimated Q1 iPhone shipments.

What the market does with that information is another issue.  Apple is traded more like last year's top fashion on closeout sale at TJ Maxx ( TJX , quote ), not like the global leader they are.  This is about market positioning and where real institutions are ready to own a solid and growing dividend yield along with a cheap valuation.
