Technology stocks were lower just before the closing bell this afternoon, with shares of tech companies in the S&P 500 falling over 0.3%.

In company news, Sky Solar Holdings ( SKYS ) stumbled Friday, with shares of the renewable-energy company dropping to a record low of $1.25 a share today after it said independent director Glen Wei resigned from the company's board on Wednesday,

In his place, the company selected Xuelong Pei to take Wei's place as an independent board member. Pei, who previously was CEO at Ganshang Corp and is a member of a special panel investigating former Sky Solar chief executive Weili Su over certain questionable transactions and fund transfers, was selected to serve on the audit, compensation, nominating and corporate governance board committees.

In other sector news,

(+) NAN0, Raised to Buy from Hold at Stifel Nicolaus, which also increased its price target for the stock by $2 to $31 a share.

(-) BAH, U.S. Department of Justice begins criminal, civil probes of cost accounting and indirect cost charging practices by wholly-owned Booz Allen Hamilton subsidiary. Also, Drexel Hamilton downgrade today to Hold from Buy.
