Tech Stocks Holding On to Smallish Gains; Fab Universal Looks Great to Quantum Fund's Rogers

Technology stocks are moderately higher with shares of technology companies in the S&P 500 climbing 0.4%.

In company news, Fab Universal ( FU ) is up nearly 25% at $6.31 a share, climbing as high as $6.61 today following upbeat remarks about the maker of digital entertainment products by Quantum Fund co-founder Jim Rogers in this weekend's Barron's.

Rogers is a FU director, telling the magazine he's become more bullish on the company following recent efforts by the Chinese government to better enforce intellectual property rights.

FU offers copyright-protected audio and video products, including a licensing segment allowing consumers download copyrighted media.

In other sector news,

(+) PRFT, Acquires CoreMatrix Systems, a consulting firm specializing in cloud computing services and solutions, for $21.5 million, plus $10 million in contingency fees subject to certain financial achievements.

(-) CTL, Connects its first customer with its dedicated 100-gigabit per second data-networking circuit.
