TD Ameritrade’s Q2 Profit Rises on Higher Trading Commissions (AMTD)

Online brokerage operator TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. ( AMTD ) on Monday said its fiscal second quarter rose 6% from last year, beating analyst estimates.

The Omaha-based company reported fiscal second quarter net income of $171.7 million, or 30 cents per share, compared with $162.6 million, or 27 cents per share, in the year-ago period.

Revenue rose 13% from last year to $718.2 million.

On average, Wall Street analysts expected a smaller profit of 29 cents per share on lower revenue of $703.6 million.

TD Ameritrade shares rose 52 cents, or +2.4%, in premarket trading Monday.
