Target chairman and chief executive officer Gregg Steinhafel said Monday that he didn't know if other data breaches
including Neiman Marcus and perhaps as many as three other retailers were related to his company's holiday-season data
"I don't know if they are related," he said, in an interview on CNBC aired Monday.
However, he said he felt there is a lot of misinformation, confusion and frustration about Target's data breach.
"I think there was misconceptions as it relates to PIN data, for example." he said. "When did we hear about it, when
did we not hear about it. Everybody kind of interprets the story a little bit different."
"We've tried to be very transparent and very clear in terms of what we know happened and what we didn't know
happened," he said.
