Sweden Adjusted January Industrial Production -2.0% On Month

The following is a press release from Statistiska Centralbyran, or SCB, the Sweden central government authority for official statistics.

STOCKHOLM--After an increase in December 2012 industrial production declined once again in January compared to December. Industrial production decreased by 2.0% in seasonally adjusted figures. When comparing the most recent three month period, November 2012 - January 2013, with the previous three month period, August - October 2012, the production continued to decrease.

Production declined by 2.5%. On a yearly basis industrial production continued to decline and decreased for the fifth consecutive month. Compared to January 2012, industrial production decreased by 7.8% in calendar adjusted figures.

The figures for January are preliminary. Since the previous publication the change in industrial production in December compared to November remains unchanged with an increase by 1.3%. The change in the production in December compared to the same month in 2012 is also unchanged with a decrease by 2.2%.
