Ronald Sargent, the chairman and CEO of Staples ( SPLS ) , bought 8,500 shares of the company's common stock on April 3. At $11.82 per share, Sargent paid a total of $100,455 for the new shares.

IK-> The technicals for SPLS ($12.08 down $0.01) are bearish with a neutral trend. Recent support has been around $11.05 and recent resistance has been near 13.45. Standard & Poor's has a 3 STARS (out of five) ranking on the stock. Look at the June 9/11 bull-put spread for a 20-cent credit. That's an 11.1% return and the stock has to fall 8.9% to cause a problem.  [InvestorsKeyhole, Various news and data services]
