Small caps top strong close last week

Equity indexes finished last week strong, with small caps taking leadership once again.

The S&P 500 rose 6.92 points, or 0.45 percent, to 1551.18 on Friday. It closed near its highs for the session and remains at levels last seen in late 2007. Resistance is at the closing high of 1565, with support at 1520.

The Nasdaq 100 gained 4.62 percent to 2804. It was the index's highest close since Oct. 5. Resistance is at 2812 and support at 2700.

The Russell 2000 was the strongest of the three, gaining 7.93 points, or 0.85 percent, to 942.50. It has no clear resistance because it's back in record territory. Support is at 915 and then at 900.
