SM Energy Q3 Profit, Sales Decline Vs. Year Ago, Beats Estimates; Shares Flat Late

SM Energy ( SM ) is flat at $53.92 in the after-hours session after the company's Q3 adjusted EPS declined to $0.14 from $0.63 in the same period last year. Revenues also fell 28.6% year-over-year to $379 mln from $530.6 mln.

This quarter's results, however, beat the Capital IQ consensus estimate of $0.06 EPS on revenues of $363.14 mln.

The company expects Q4 production (BCFE) of 57.5-60.5, and average daily production (MMCFE/d) of 625-658. It sees FY12 production (BCFE) of 215.5-218.5 and average daily production (MMCFE/d) of 589-597.

SM is trading in a 52-week range of $39.44 - $88.32.
