Silver Standard Resources Swings to Loss in Q3 2012 - Reaffirms 2012 Production Guidance

Silver Standard Resources Inc. ( SSRI ) reported a third quarter 2012 loss of $2.5 million, or $0.03 per share, compared to consensus estimate of $0.01 per share earnings. Revenues were $73.5 million, which is above the $67.86 million analysts estimate.

In the same period last year, the company had a net income of $21.8 million, or $0.27 per share, on revenues of $26.15 million.

The company also maintains 2012 production guidance of between 8.2 and 8.5 million ounces of silver and between 10.5 and 11.5 million pounds of zinc.

SSRI edged up by 2 cents to $14.71 in the after-hours market.
