Sigma Designs Q4 Loss Widens

(RTTNews.com) - Sigma Designs, Inc. ( SIGM ) Wednesday reported a wider loss for the fourth quarter, due mainly to higher sales costs.

Net loss for the quarter widened to $35.53 million or $1.05 per share from $18.83 million or $0.58 per share in the comparable quarter prior year.

Adjusted loss for quarter was $18.1 million or $0.54 per share, wider than $13.9 million or $0.43 per share in the prior year period.

On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.25 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Meanwhile, quarterly revenues rose to $44.19 million from $35.56 million last year, while four analysts expected revenues of $43.43 million for the quarter.
