Seven signs of the Stockpocalypse

There are three things that will always arouse warnings of an imminent stock market crash: when the market goes up, when the market goes down, and when the market stays flat. It is, no doubt, the specter of two serious bear markets in the last 15 years that causes this permanent state of half-panic. I certainly don't recall any time period since 2008 in which the same pundits could predict a stock market crash day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year-failing as spectacularly at their jobs, I might point out, as it is possible for a person to fail-yet still be invited back day after day to do it all again.

For whatever reason fear sells. One wonders if, when stocks eventually do go the other way for more than a month or two, the perma-bears will be shameless enough to claim to have predicted events correctly.

None of these triggers spells certain doom by itself, but none should be ignored. If they all start happening at the same time, it's time to head for the hills.

Some of these are based on historical patterns, others are based on emerging trends. In all cases, do your own research before trading.
