Sector Update: Technology Shares Higher; Take-Two Interactive Loses 5% After Icahn Drops Stake

Technology shares are higher in pre-bell trading.

In technology stocks news, JA Solar Holdings ( JASO ) is down about 6% as it reports Q3 net revenue was RMB 1.8 billion, or $287.3 million. Non-GAAP loss per diluted ADS was RMB 2.24, or $0.37. Analysts expected a loss of $0.30 per ADS on $264 million in revenue.

And, Take-Two Interactive ( TTWO ) is more than 5% lower this morning after disclosing that, as part of an ongoing strategy to buy back its shares, the company has purchased all of the Icahn Group's stock at Monday's closing price of $16.93 per share.

Finally, iSoftStone Holdings Limited ( ISS ), a China-based IT services provider, is reporting that it swung to a Q3 non-GAAP net loss of $1.9 million, or $0.04 per ADS, missing analysts estimates of a profit of $0.04 per share as rising costs offset higher revenue.

The company made a profit of $10.4 million, or $0.18, in the year ago period. ISS is flat at $5.00 pre-market.
