Technology shares were generally higher in pre-market trade Monday.

In technology stocks news, the American Depositary Receipts of Sony ( SNE ) were slightly higher in recent pre-market trading on Monday after Reuters said the company's PlayStation Network is now back online, following a service-style attack that the Japanese electronic products conglomerate reportedly confirmed didn't intrude any of its 53 million users' information.

The cyber attack coincided with a bomb scare on a plane carrying a Sony executive in the U.S., Reuters also said. SNE ADRs closed at $18.86 on Friday.

And, MRV Communications ( MRVC ) reported that for Q2 ended June 30, 2014, its loss widened while revenue improved year over year.

The provider of optical communications network infrastructure equipment and services posted Q2 net loss was $2.3 million or $0.31 loss per diluted share, compared with the prior-year period's a net loss of $0.9 million, or $0.13 loss per diluted share. Revenue was $43.1 million, up 13% from $38.2 million in the same quarter last year.

MRVC shares closed at $13.39, with a 52-week range of $9.30 - $16.60.
