Sector Update: Shares Mixed Pre-Market as Crude Oil Futures Weighed

Energy shares traded generally mixed in pre-market trade Tuesday as crude oil futures fell.

Light, sweet crude oil for July delivery was down 0.34% at $106.54 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was down 0.14% at $2.99 per gallon while natural gas was down 0.42% at $4.69 per million British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.18% at $39.10. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was down 0.77% at $25.86.

In other energy news, Forest Oil ( FST ) shares leapt in Tuesday's pre-market session after Sabine Oil & Gas affirmed that committed financing is 'fully in place" for the oil-and-gas companies' merger, quashing concerns that the financing had been pulled.

FST was up 21% at $2.44 in recent pre-market trading , in a 52-week range of $1.68 to $6.67.
