Healthcare shares were fairly flat in pre-market trade on Tuesday.

In healthcare stocks news, Amarin Corporation ( AMRN ) and Kowa Pharmaceuticals America, two biopharmaceutical companies focused on the development and commercialization of therapeutics to improve cardiovascular health, announced late Monday an agreement to co-promote Amarin's flagship product, Vascepa capsules, in the United States.

Vascepa was approved for use in the United States as an adjunct to diet to reduce triglyceride levels in adult patients with severe hypertriglyceridemia.


AMRN was up 5.0% at $1.90 in pre-market trade.

And, MannKind ( MNKD ) shares were halted in pre-market trade, pending news. MNKD trades in a 52-week range of $3.39 to $8.70.
