Healthcare shares were generally flat in pre-market trade Thursday.

In stocks news, Eagle Pharmaceuticals ( EGRX ) was soaring nearly 8% in pre-market trading after the specialty pharmaceutical company said that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has accepted the company's New Drug Application for Ryanodex and granted a priority review classification.

Shares are up 7.87% at $15.62, with a 52-week range of $11.41 - $16.44.

And, Synta Pharmaceuticals Corp. ( SNTA ) have soared more than 27% to $6.04 in pre-market trading after the company reported positive interim results from a study designed to evaluate its Ganetespib treatment for breast cancer.

The company says the trial was designed to evaluate Ganetespib in metastatic breast cancer and identify potential predictive biomarkers.
