Sector Update: Healthcare Flat Pre-Market; Aria up 10% as Sarissa Capital Discloses 6% Stake

Healthcare shares are flat in pre-market trade.

In healthcare stocks news, Aria (AIRA) is up 10% at $4.17, still trading at the low end of its 52-week range of $2.62 to $24.59.

Aria is welcoming a boost from Sarissa Capital Management, which disclosed a 6.22% active stake.

And, Ligand Pharmaceuticals ( LGND ) is down about 1% after it reported Q3 earnings of $0.12 per share, ex one-time items, compared with the Capital IQ analyst estimate of $0.06. In the prior-year period, the company posted $0.11 loss per share.

Revenues were $13 million, up 104% from $6.4 million in the same quarter last year. Analysts were expecting revenues of $10.8 million.
