Financial shares are mixed in today's pre-market session as investors receive signs that tapering of the Fed's bond-buying program could begin soon.

In stocks news, GSV Capital ( GSVC ) is down more than 2% pre-market as it reported a Q3 net investment loss of $0.16 per share, an increase over the $0.12 per share loss a year prior. Analyst estimates were not available.

GSVC is trading in a 52-week range of $6.84 to $16.90.


And, Hilltop ( HTH ) produced net income to common stockholders of $31.8 million, or $0.36 per diluted share, for Q3 2013. Net loss to common stockholders was $4.0 million, or $0.07 per diluted share, for Q3 2012.

Analysts expected Hilltop to report $0.32 per share for Q3, if comparable. HTH closed at $17.26 Friday, trading in a 52-week range of $12.34 to $18.71.
