In financial stocks news, Canada's Scotiabank (BNS, BNS.TO)
reported net income for Q4 2013 of $1,703 million, up 12% from
$1,519 million for the same period last year. Diluted earnings per
) were $1.30, compared to $1.18 last year, an increase of 10%.
Adjusted EPS was $1.31, which missed forecasts by a penny.
And, CME Group (
) is in the last stages of talks with the Bank of England to join
the new European exchange and is hoping for approval soon,
Bloomberg reports. CME closed down 1.3% at $79.11 yesterday,
trading in a 52-week range of $49.79 to $84.35.
