Sector Update: Financial Stocks Sag Ahead of Federal Reserve Meeting

Financial shares are generally lower in Wednesday's pre-market session as investors turn their attention to the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting.

In financial stocks news, investment banking advisory firm Evercore Partners Inc. ( EVR ) said adjusted diluted EPS for Q4 2013 increased 12% year over year to $0.71, topping the Capital IQ consensus of $0.67.

Net revenues totaled $214.6 million, up 1% from last year, versus the $210 million analyst estimate.

And, Summit Financial Group, Inc. ( SMMF ) today reported Q4 2013 net income applicable to common shares of $2.59 million, or$0.29 per diluted share, compared with $1.91 million, or $0.22 per diluted share, for Q4 2012.
