Sector Update: Energy Shares Mixed Pre-Market; Crude Oil Futures Drop

Energy shares traded mixed in pre-market trade Thursday as crude oil futures were lower.

Light, sweet crude oil for June delivery was down 0.49% at $100.28 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was down 0.41% at $2.92 per gallon while natural gas was down 0.46% at $4.72 per million British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.60% at $36.38. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was flat at $26.30.

In other energy news, BretBurn Energy Partners ( BBEP ) reported Q1 loss of $0.08 per share, which missed the analyst consensus by $0.02. It reported revenue of $223.6 million, which beat the Street view.

And, Apache ( APA ) reported Q1 earnings of $1.78 per share and revenue of $3.67 billion, both of which beat the Street view.
