Sector Update: Energy Shares Mixed as Crude Climbs From $94 Per Barrel

Energy shares are mixed in pre-market, while crude oil futures are up.

Light, sweet crude oil for January delivery is trading up 0.23% at $94.31 a barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil is up $0.01 at $3.04 a gallon while natural gas is up $0.04 at $3.88 per million British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) is up 0.44% at $33.97. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) is up 0.80% at $18.93.

In other energy news, Jones Energy Inc. ( JONE ) is unchanged at $13.87 a share in late Monday trading and the independent oil and gas company tonight announcing a deal to purchase producing and undeveloped oil and gas assets in the Anadarko Basin from an unidentified privately held firm for $195 million.

JONE executives said they expect the deal to be "significantly" accretive to FY14 earnings. JONE is flat at $13.87, having closed down 2% yesterday.
