Sector Update: Energy Shares Flat Pre-Market as Crude Oil Futures Rise

Energy shares were fairly flat in Friday's pre-market trade as crude oil futures were up.

Light, sweet crude oil for October delivery was up 0.44% at $94.97 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was up 0.11% at $2.86 per gallon while natural gas was up 0.57% at $4.02 British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 0.42% at $35.47. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was down 0.68% at $21.95.

In other energy news, ConocoPhillips ( COP ) shares were steady as Green Dragon Gas, a coal bed methane gas producer, agreed to pay $40 million to settle a legal dispute, according to RTT news.

COP trades in a 52-week range of $62.74 to $87.09.
