Sector Update: Energy Shares Flat in Pre-Market Trade as Crude Futures Drop Toward $94 Per Barrel

Energy shares are flat to higher in pre-market, while crude oil futures are lower.

Light, sweet crude oil for December delivery is trading down $0.03 at $94.17 a barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil is up $0.01 at $2.84 a gallon while natural gas is up $0.04 at $3.56 per million British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) is down 0.03% at $33.96. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) is up 1.32% at $17.44.

In other energy news, Statoil ( STO ) shares are down 2% in pre-market trade as it says it plans to drill from 20 to 25 exploration wells off shore in Norway, Platts reports.

STO is down 2% at $22.76 in pre-market trade.
