Sector Update: Energy Shares Flat; Halliburton Drops 1% on Earnings

Energy shares are flat in pre-market, while crude oil futures are also lower.

Light crude oil for November delivery is trading down $1.02 at $99.79 a barrel.

natural gas is up $0.01 at $3.78 per million British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) is up 0.74% at $36.66. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) is down 0.88% at $19.16.

In other energy news, Halliburton ( HAL ) reports Q3 EPS of $0.83, vs. the analyst consensus of $0.82 per share on Capital IQ. Revenue was $7.47 bln, vs. expectations of $7.49 bln. HAL is down about 1% pre-market.
