Sector Update: Energy Shares Down Pre-Market; Crude Futures Dip Toward $101 Per Barrel

Energy shares are lower in pre-market, while crude oil futures are also lower.

Light crude oil for November delivery is down $0.58 at $101.44 a barrel.

In other energy futures, heating oil is down $0.01 at $3.02 a gallon while natural gas is up $0.04 at $3.82 per million British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) is flat at $36.76. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) is up 0.41% at $19.50.

In other energy news, Suntech ( STP ) is lower after it provided an update regarding its Global Solar Fund assets in Brindisi, Italy.

It said on Sept 23, an additional 5.3 MW of solar fields were seized and on October 4, another 1.9 MW were seized. As of October 9, in total, 47 sites with a total generating capacity of 37.8 MW have been seized representing approximately 26.9% of GSF's total generating capacity.
