Consumer shares were generally flat in pre-market trade
In consumer sector news, Ocean Bio-Chem (
), a manufacturer and distributor of appearance, performance, and
maintenance products for marine, automotive, power sports,
recreational vehicle and outdoor power equipment, reported mixed
financial results for Q4.
OCBI reported Q4 earnings of $0.04 per share, compared with the
prior-year period's $0.05 per share. Revenue was $7.8 million, up
from $6.9 million in the same quarter last year.
And, Cal-Maine Foods (
) on Monday reported stronger earnings for Q3 ended March 1, 2014,
primarily driven by a sharp increase in net sales. It also boosted
its cash dividend for the quarter.
The egg distributor said net income was $42.9 million, or $1.77
per diluted share, up from $30.6 million, or $1.27 per diluted
share, a year earlier. An analyst had called for earnings of $1.31
per diluted share, according to Capital IQ. Net sales rose to
$395.5 million from $360.4 million, topping the $358 million
Finally, SORL Auto Parts (
) reported Q4 sales of $55.3 million, in line with the single
analyst estimate on Capital IQ. Earnings were $0.05 per share, but
this may not be comparable to the estimate of $0.19 per share.
For the fiscal year 2014, management reiterates its outlook for
net sales to be approximately $225.0 million and net income to be
approximately $12.5 million.
