Consumer shares are mixed in pre-bell trading today.

In consumer sector news, Lowe's ( LOW ) is partnering with a start-up in Seattle, Porch.com, that has come up with a method for recommending home improvement professionals, reports the New York Times. Terms of the partnership were not disclosed, but the report said the retailer has invested an undisclosed amount in Porch.

And, Dana Holding ( DAN ) expects fiscal 2013 revenue of $6.77 billion and fiscal 2014 revenue of $6.8 billion to $6.9 billion.

Finally, DineEquity ( DIN ) says its Applebee's has added 26 new food items to its kids menu in an effort to make it healthier.
