Consumer shares were generally mixed in pre-market trading Wednesday.

In consumer-sector news, Express ( EXPR ) shares dropped more than 14% pre-market Wednesday, after the clothing retailer reported Q4 earnings and revenue below the Street view, while Q1 and 2014 guidance fell short.

Express reported Q4 earnings of $0.57 per share and sales of $715.9 million. The Street expected earnings of $0.59 per share on revenue of $722 million, according to the Capital IQ consensus.

Mannatech ( MTEX ) reported a jump in Q4 income after launching a new skin-care product in the U.S. and Canada.

The maker of nutritional supplements, topical and skin-care products and weight-management products said its Q4 net income was $2.6 million, or $0.94 per diluted share, compared with $0.3 million, or $0.10 per diluted share, a year ago.
