Sector Update: Consumer Shares Mixed Pre-Bell Monday; McDonald's Nudges Up Despite Sales Decrease

Consumer shares were mixed in pre-bell trading on Monday.

In consumer sector news, McDonald's ( MCD ) was up slightly even after it reported that in January, U.S. comparable sales decreased 3.3% amid broad-based challenges including severe winter weather.

And, toy-maker Hasbro, Inc. ( HAS ) was down 1.5% after it said adjusted diluted EPS for Q4 2013 was $1.12 versus $1.20 last year. The Street was looking for diluted EPS of $1.24, according to Capital IQ.

Revenues were flat at $1.28 billion compared to last year and in line with the Capital IQ consensus.
