In consumer sector news, General Motors' ( GM ) China joint venture will recall close to 1.5 million vehicles due to issues with a bracket that secures the fuel pump, Reuters reports.

The country's quality watchdog reportedly said Shanghai General Motors Co Ltd, the auto and truck maker's venture with SAIC Motor Corp, will recall about 1.46 million Buick and Chevrolet models produced locally, noting the recall was big in number, as both models are high-volume, mainstream cars. The cause of the recall, however, didn't appear too serious.

And, analysts at Macquarie have maintained their Outperform rating on CBS Corporation ( CBS ), while setting the target price on the stock at $66 a share.

In the pre-market session, shares of CBS were flat at $63, near the top of their 52-week range of $36.69 - $63.14.

Finally, Netflix ( NFLX ) is operational again after streaming issues yesterday. NFLX is up 0.3% pre-market.
