Sector Update: Consumer

Consumer shares are fairly flat in pre-bell trading today.

Green Dot ( GDOT ) reports Q3 EPS of $0.24, vs. the analyst consensus of $0.21 per share on Capital IQ. Revenue was $136.5 mln, vs. expectations of $137 mln.

For 2013, the company expects EPS of $1.10 to $1.20 on revenue of $575 to $580 mln. The Street view is $1.17 per share in earnings on revenue of $573 mln.

And, Drew Industries ( DW ) said its Q3 net income jumped to $0.62 per share from $0.43 the year earlier coming in well ahead of the $0.54 average Capital IQ analyst estimate. Revenues rose 11% to $251 million, but missed the consensus $254 million estimate.

The provider of components for makers of recreational vehicles and manufactured homes also said that its October net sales rose 12% from the same period a year ago, helped by "solid growth" in the RV segment.

DW closed lower 0.22% yesterday. It is trading near the top-end of the 52-week range between $28.38 and $52.36.
